Episode 12:  Growing Together and Community Reflections

Posted Date: 6/11/25 (9:56 AM)

Hi,

I really admire the grit and determination that people have in the Loleta community.

Every day, we see people who are actively breaking generational cycles that are no longer aligned. They are choosing a better future for themselves, for their kids, and for their community. Loleta is filled with people who are resilient enough to build the future they want to see with their bare hands. We see that reflected in the podcast as well as our everyday life.

Thank you for spending this time with us <3

This is the last episode of this season of Loleta Legends! We hope you had an amazing time listening to the guests and cheering on our student hosts. This podcast has been a reflection of the incredible community we have created here, and I couldn't be prouder of what we’ve built. I know that we can continue to grow together and reflect on our achievements as a community, in season two and in real life.

This week, we are speaking to Rose, the Loleta Community School Coordinator Assistant, and  Arianne Nova, a community organizer with True North Organizing Network. They are a local grassroots nonprofit that focuses on community organizing.  True North Organizing Network develops leadership in communities with common values across Tribal Lands, Del Norte, and Humboldt Counties. They support families, elders, youth, and individuals of diverse faith traditions, races, cultures, and economic capacities working together for powerful change, using the power of relationships and a disciplined community organizing model. True North leaders are courageously challenging social, economic, and environmental injustice in our region.

In this week’s episode, we've been reflecting on the last two weeks and talking about how we’ve been growing together. Our resilience has moved mountains in our community and created this podcast! I am super proud of our hosts, our guests, and everyone who listened in every week. Tune in to hear the season finale of Loleta Legends and to hear how our community has changed for the better.
