Episode 11: How Podcasting Gave One Student the Confidence to Use Her Voice
Hi,
Our kids need their voices to be heard.
That was a big part of why we pitched a podcast to the community. It’s one thing to know what your kids need hypothetically, it’s another thing to let them use their voice and be proud of the words they are saying. That’s a kind of power that we don’t always get when we’re that young. This podcast gave them the chance to speak up, and they took it.
And they want the chance to do it again.
As we wrap up this powerful season of our school podcast, we’re celebrating a major milestone—watching our student hosts grow into confident storytellers, leaders, and changemakers. This week’s episode is all about reflection and gratitude. What started as a new and unfamiliar project became a safe space for students to share their voices, build community, and speak up about what matters to them.
Our team showed up every week—interviewing, asking tough questions, and showing leadership in ways they never imagined. They pushed through their nerves and their uncertainty, and now their voices are live on Spotify and Apple Podcasts - ready for the world to hear. As we wrap up the last of this season’s episodes, one message becomes abundantly clear: There should definitely be a season two!” Listen to this week’s episode to hear how this podcast changed our student host's life and how the podcast can continue to benefit our kids' lives.
