Dear Loleta Families!

It is time for “Read Across America!” Formally known as Doctor Suess Day, we now recognize and celebrate reading for all! Ms Cindy is serving “Green Eggs and Ham” for breakfast and “Cat in the Hat” parfaits to celebrate. Classes will be reading books aloud in class on Monday March 2. This month we have Belonging Circles, St. Patrick’s Day and parent/teacher conferences! Conferences will be scheduled beginning Monday March 16! Come celebrate your student’s growth!

Please come and join us as we begin developing our community through a series of “Belonging Circles.”  In partnership with True North and the Loleta Community Resource Center we are working to build relationship, recognize and celebrate our differences and our commonalities. The first one is Wednesday March 4 at 5:30pm in Room 2. Translation and dinner are provided.

We are always working to improve communication. Please stop by and update your email and phone numbers. In looking towards the future, we would like to send our monthly packet home electronically. Please let us know if this is an option for you! Help us save paper and also facilitate your receiving the packet and all its important contents.

Lisa Armstrong is our new secretary. Many of you already know her. Please stop by and give her a great big welcome!

The Bear River Rancheria has generously helped the school with updating our computer lab to meet State testing standards. We appreciate this support!

In our world of sports, we are patiently waiting for track and field to begin in April. Meanwhile, we are beginning soccer in preparation for next year. Please encourage your students to sign up!

We would like to thank the community for their support for our 8th grade trip by participating in our Candy gram and flower gram fundraisers. Thank you for all the hard work Ms. Sounart!

Please join us at our annual LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan) community meeting. We want and need your input! During this meeting I will share the draft goals that have begun to be developed by our various stakeholder groups and we can discuss what actions and accountability pieces we would like to have in the plan. What are your priorities for our school?  Translation, and food will be available!! It will be March 24 at 6:00 in Room 2. See you there!

It is hard to imagine that it has been a year since the great flooding and loss we had. It is so important to recognize the strength of our community and to participate in our celebrations! Thank you Loleta for being there for these events.

Please exercise your right and vote on March 3, super Tuesday to add your voice to our governance!

In unity for our children,
Autumn
